A Call for Safer Streets. \n\n\n\nTomorrow\, we invite our community to come together in remembrance of the lives tragically lost in pedestrian incidents along the MLK corridor and to stand together in calling for safer streets. \n\n\n\n  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n📅 Saturday\, August 29 ⏰ 10:00 AM 📍 Beginning at the parking lot of the Looking Glass project\, north of Greenwood Cemetery 🌦️ Weather permitting \n\n\n\nWe will begin with a moment of silence\, followed by remarks from family\, friends and members of our community. \n\n\n\nTogether\, we will then walk along MLK\, cross at 11th Avenue and return along the opposite side of the street. \n\n\n\nEvery person walking represents something bigger: a neighbor\, a family\, a business owner\, a child and a community that deserves to move safely along our streets. \n\n\n\nPlease join us as we remember those we have lost\, raise awareness about the pedestrian tragedies along the MLK corridor and call for meaningful improvements that make our streets safer for everyone. \n\n\n\n🕯️ Remembering lives lost. 🚶 Walking together. ❤️ Advocating for a safer MLK.

Jr. St. S.\, Suite A St. Petersburg\, FL \nAdditional parking at 801 MLK S across 8th Ave S from 4Fitness! \nWith the District 6 Primary approaching\, this meeting is an opportunity to hear directly from Linsey Grove and Trevor Mallory as they share their respective visions for District 6 and the future of St. Petersburg. \nBoth candidates will be provided equal time to speak\, giving attendees the opportunity to learn more about their priorities\, perspectives and plans for the district. \nOur September meeting will be hosted by Sapien Art Fitness\, a local St. Pete fitness and wellness community focused on intentional movement\, strength and whole person wellness. \n  \n \nMeet Linsey Grove\nA proven leader. A voice for progress. \nLinsey Grove brings nearly two decades of experience as a public health advocate\, educator\, and small business owner to her candidacy for District 6. She’s a proud 12-year Roser Park homeowner\, creative problem-solver\, and known bridge-builder across political and community lines. \nAs a former president of the League of Women Voters of the St. Petersburg Area\, Linsey has championed major initiatives like: \n\n\nComplete Streets investment and implementation \n\n\nCommunity Benefits Agreement advocacy \n\n\nZoning reform for affordable housing \n\n\nLGBTQ+ homeless youth awareness \n\n\nReproductive health access and education \n\n\nMail-in voting access during COVID-19 \n\n\n \nTrevor Mallory is a lifelong St. Petersburg resident\, local business leader and community advocate with deep roots in the Lakewood neighborhood. After playing six seasons of professional baseball with the Toronto Blue Jays organization\, Trevor returned home to invest in his community through affordable housing\, home rehabilitation and youth mentorship. He has served as President of Neighborhood Home Solutions\, on the City of St. Petersburg’s Affordable Housing Advisory Committee and on the Citizen Redistricting Commission.
